The ® symbol should always be placed in immediate proximity to the registered trademark.

If the registered trademark is used together with additional word or graphic elements such as a slogan, a byline or a graphic design which are not elements of the registered trademark, the ® symbol has to be used in a manner that leaves no doubt about what exactly is registered as a trademark.
