After studying mechanical engineering at EPFL and completing a master’s project at Scania in Sweden, Raphaël began his career at Miniswys, a spin-off of the Biel-based ‘invention factory’ Creaholic. There, he developed piezoelectric micromotors and their integration into various systems, including optics for micro-cameras, watch mechanisms and lock systems. He subsequently held the roles of CTO and then CEO, gaining insight into intellectual property from both the inventor’s perspective and that of patent portfolio management and innovation strategy.
Raphaël also completed an EMBA in Technology and Innovation Management at EPFL, with a particular focus on IP strategy for start-ups.
Upon joining Bovard in 2025, he decided to devote himself fully to intellectual property as a patent engineer and trainee patent attorney, with the ambition of transforming technical advances into solid IP assets for his clients.
A keen sportsman and photography enthusiast from a young age, Raphaël divides his spare time between running, cycling and wildlife photography.
